An anonymous Fake Gold Pala ( 1/4 Kahavanu ) with Jasmine flower and Chank. Codrington Type III(B).

Obverse : Standing figure (? of Lakshmi) head to right Crown, two parallel lin ending in a dot. In a Dhoti (garment) indicated by two curved lines on either side but no line between legs; left leg crossed behind right. Right arm pendent; left is bent, and holds jasmine flower before the face. To left variety apparently no symbol ; to right fire-alter, A beaded circle along the periphery of the coin.
Reverse : Devanagari Legend Lakshmi under chank to left.

The Pala was scanned at 600dpi and displayed at 400dpi. It was gifted to me in 2004 November by a dealer in fort Colombo, Lanka, who said it was a fake coin made of silver.
